Live Colorfully...by Kate Spade

So says the happy email I received from the Kate Spade web site this morning :) What a cheerful way to start the day.

In honor of this happy idea...here are a few colorful finds that I'm craving from the site today.

Garden Party Wool Scarf

I love wearing scarves, especially during those transitional times such as spring and fall. This one is so pretty and is rocking my favorite color combo: shades of purple and green.

Ok, it is not full of color, but a nod to Holly Golightly? I'll take it and wear it with a simple hot pink sheath. Perfection.

New York Minute Idiom Bracelet

This bracelet reminds me of balloons and gumballs! I'd wear this to a garden party, a child's birthday party or any other spring event!

Imogen Sandal

How gorgeous would this be paired with, well any summer outfit! I am picturing it with a flowing white gauzy dress and lots of gold jewelry:)

Fashion Friday Babble: Classy Kate

If you are a regular reader (and if you are, thank you!) You know I am a huge fan of Kate Spade.

I was browsing the sale section on her site today and found this super-cute leopard print purse.

I love it. I totally see one of the fancy gals from Mad Men rocking this purse. If I could live in another decade, it would be then. In my real life, a leopard-print bag doesn't quite fit in.

Inspired by the classic, ladylike look of leopard print, I settled on these cute shoes this week...they are from Tahari by way of Bloomingdales and I adore them! I love the satiny fabric and the wedge heel.

I love how I can wear them with black or brown, dresses or pants. :)

I think I'll wear them to dinner tomorrow night...headed out for much needed girls nite! Kitchen A Trattoria in St. James (Long Island)...anyone ever been? Let me know!

Get Organized!

As I mentioned in a previous post, I have high hopes for this year both in my personal life and my career. I really want 2010 to be a healthy, happy and prosperous one for myself and everyone I love.

For me, getting and staying organized can really help me reach those goals. So, this year, I'm committing myself to doing just that and I'm hoping this little trinket will do the trick:

I tend to easily get overwhelmed with my never-ending to-do lists, appointments, assignments...really, life in general! So, I figure I'll be so excited to use it while I drool over the illustrations by the super talented Bella Foster, that I'll be forced to keep it with me at all times.

So cute, plus I love that there's room for listing birthdays, addresses, notes...a great find!

Why I Heart Kate Spade

My obsession with Kate Spade goes back to about 1999, the year I made my first KS purchase, a classic microfiber silver-grey handbag (at a NYC sample sale, of course!). My collection slowly grew thanks to sample sales and outlet shops. Many of her home designs even appeared on my wedding registry (the Library Stripe and Larabee Dot vases to name a few).

I love her ads, her website, her books, her humorous approach to American glamour. And now today, she gave me one more reason to heart her: the Mariachi Ric Rac jewelry collection.













These affordable, colorful, perfect-for-summer bangles, earrings and rings (above) are so refreshing. I'm not usually a fan of gold jewelery but I love the bold pops of colored enamel against the gold. I think the earrings are my favorite. They'd be perfect this summer, paired with a pair of white jeans, a flowy top and of course, a cocktail in hand.
